An overall softer market in the export section with weather paying a strong factor and not all buyers operating. However there was some light in the young cattle.
With the wet conditions only a small yarding, a large portion of vendors being forced to sell.
Cows followed the same trajectory as last week heavier articles traded to 276.2 cents which is down 4 cents from last week. lighter cows were 156 to 220cents. Around 10cents decline in price this week.
Steers
a limited offering
Restockers under 280kgs sold to 442.2c/kg which was up from the previous week, and with the reduced yarding this lifted the average for this category up by 43 cents.
heavier steers 330-400kg made 418c/kg to average 386.26c/kg this is up by 16cents and 39 cents respectively.
Heifers
The disparity between steers and heifers were starting to show again, with heifers dropping this week restockers trading 250-314c/kg down about 8c.
